Why We Invested in Lux Aeterna

Unlocking the Potential of the Space Economy Through Critical Infrastructure

Written by Santosh Sankar, Madelyn O'Farrell, and Jon Bradford, 2025-06-25

We welcome Brian Taylor and the Lux Aeterna team to the Dynamo family. Lux Aeterna is unlocking the potential of the space economy through reusable satellite buses (think chassis for those who are not as well-versed in rocketry/aeronautics).

We distill our excitement for Lux Aeterna’s mission and the team’s capability:

  • A uniquely qualified founding team with deep technical and operational pedigree. CEO Brian Taylor  brings firsthand experience from SpaceX (Starlink), Amazon Kuiper, and Loft Orbital, while Nick Capelli and Collin Galganksi round out core execution in engineering and product ops. Their backgrounds directly align with the technical and commercial roadmap, and Brian’s leadership qualities have been consistently validated throughout our interactions.
  • A compelling, capital-efficient wedge into a massive opportunity. Lux Aeterna’s reusable satellite platform has the potential to unlock a paradigm shift in cost, capacity, and frequency of space missions—echoing what SpaceX has achieved with their reusable rockets. The company’s phased go-to-market approach is well-thought-out to generate early revenue and derisk development through key contracts with both public (DoD, NASA, etc) and private customers.
  • Clear technological differentiation and early market validation. At the heart of Lux Aeterna is a novel heat shield that enables reusability—a critical bottleneck in today’s satellite infrastructure. Though pre-revenue, the company has already secured LOIs from commercial customers, demonstrating meaningful, early demand.

We recognize and appreciate Brian’s ambition and are excited to support him and Lux Aeterna as he executes over the coming years. Ad astra!
